have, so we have produced a guide to help you through some of the processes
we use on a daily basis. We hope it will give you an understanding of what
can be done and how we do it.
Screen printing
A Screen print is the application of a single colour at a time through a custom made stencil onto a flat or curved surface. Once the first colour has been applied, we then put down the second and subsequent colours. Following ink application the product is passed through a drier at an appropriate temperature in order that the print ink becomes ‘cured’. Different inks are used for different surfaces, and it is this combination that determines the longevity with and stability of the finished print. This method of branding is most appropriate for three dimensional objects made from plastics, wood, metal, textiles, glass and ceramics.
Tampo/Pad
The most effective way of applying up to 4 colour process onto flat, curved or recessed areas. Ink is applied via a specialized rubber. This in turn applys ink under pressure onto your product which is held in a special jig.
Hot foil blocking/embossing
This application literally punches your logo into the material you are branding. Usually used on leather or vinyl products like desk diaries or bags, products can be blind embossed where no colouration is involved or foil blocked where a coloured foil is pushed into the material at the time of embossing.
Engraving
A digital logo is sent to the laser machine. With a light or a gas beam the top layer of the material will be “burned” away. And the logo becomes visible. The more complex the logo or the bigger the surface we need to engrave, the longer the production time. A simple line of text may take 5 seconds but a square of 10×10 cm may take a minute or more per piece.
Embroidery
A way of stitching your design into garments, bags, vinyl and other thin materials. Unlike screen printing which will eventually fade, embroidery offers a permanent way of branding clothing. Used for clothing, textiles, thin PVC and other flat, thin or soft surfaces.
Transfer
Four colour process and litho process are are output onto a vinyl ‘flat’ material. Transfer is a little like the old water applied tattoos. The transfer is then applied to your chosen item via heat application. Used on ceramics, glass, textiles, PVC and plastics.
Digital print
A digital logo will be sent to the laser machine. With a light beam (YAG laser) or a gas beam (CO2 laser) the top layer of the material will be “burned” away. And the logo becomes visible. The more complex the logo or
the bigger the surface we need to engrave, the longer the production time. A simple line of text may take 5 seconds but a square of 10×10 cm may take a minute or more per piece.
Domed label
The term doming comes from the rounding that is reminiscent of a dome. On a plotter the logo is printed on a roll of adhesive paper, a cutter will cut out the desired shape and then a 2 component resin layer (epoxy) is applied. This layer is crystal clear, this means not only will the logo be protected against colouring also it looks slightly enlarged and is protected against scratching.
Stock holding and Web stores
Web stores are a great way for you to ensure that your products are purchased in the most cost effective way, shipped out quickly with little fuss and that your brand guidelines are always adhered to. Webshop development includes, building a commerce platform, making and storing product, then sending out and charging on an order by order basis. We also have a simple stockholding and distribution facility if you do not want all of your product delivers in one go.
How do I supply artwork for the best results?
Artwork should be supplied in one of the following formats:
• Adobe Illustrator files (ideally layered)
• Adobe Photoshop PSD files (ideally layered)
Attach fonts with files or create outlines for all fonts within documents.
Attach images or embed them.
Please also list Pantone colours, size specifics or other information you feel is useful. If your artwork is not available in the above formats please check with Promise Promo before sending. Although the above formats are preferable, there may be some instances where alternative artwork would be permittable.

Wait too long to approve artwork layouts we have provided as digital proofs. All our quoted lead times are based upon 24-48 hour artwork turn-around following an order and any delay in resolving artwork issues can and does affect the final delivery date.
The closer your artwork is to our required specification, the shorter the amount of time it spends in our studio meaning the quicker we will be able to dispatch your goods.
